Huskies "Old" & New In A Tightly Contested Game!

This Taken from Mayor Al's Facebook page

"I spent the afternoon at the RHJ today and what I saw, I think speaks volumes in what our communities stand for- cooperation and volunteering! Hockey Moms and Dads, grandparents and just friends, out helping to put on “Hockey Day in The Pas”. The business community, as always, chipped in including Northland Ford who had their test vehicles there. Everywhere I went people were busy, happy and the kids were really excited.
I want to acknowledge Amy Brown and her committee for inviting me to drop the puck for the opening of the game. I was also asked to, as the kids put it, “be the head coach” of the Husky All Stars!- Quite an honour for me. The Husky Oldtimers were gracious in the game with the exception of #16 and I was trying to get him kicked out to no avail. (just kidding Rob!)
At the end of 3 periods the score was tied and we went into a shootout, at the end of which the All Stars came out ahead! My record as coach is perfect- maybe it’s time to quit while I am on top of my game!!!!
We would not have such great hockey if it was not for all the volunteers who give so much of their time to promote the sport and to pass the sport onto the younger generation. Give yourselves a pat on the back. I don’t have the names of all the volunteers but you know who you are…..".
