Taylor Kristjanson smashes a hat trick, Thompson Tigers effective on defense to win

Thompson Tigers prevailed against The Pas Huskies Novice 6 - 1 at RHJA on Saturday. Thompson Tigers outscored The Pas Huskies Novice four to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. Thompson Tigers gained one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. The Thompson Tigers defense took over in the final period. In the final period Thompson Tigers scored one goal sealing the deal and winning the game.

Leading the way to a win for Thompson Tigers, Taylor Kristjanson got the hat trick with six goals. During the first period, with 11:06 left Kristjanson lit the lamp without assistance from team mates. During the first period, with 14:22 left Kristjanson lit the lamp without assistance from team mates. With 10:54 left to play in the first period Kristjanson got the unassisted goal. Piling on, Kristjanson got the unassisted goal with 10:14 left in the first period. With 1:21 left to play in the second period Kristjanson put the puck in the net without assistance. Thompson Tigers turned up the pressure when Kristjanson put the puck in the net with 7:33 left in the third period with an assist from Katelyn Farkas.

In the crease, Thompson Tigers's Claire Lafreniere had zero saves on one shots on goal to gain the win. In goal, The Pas Huskies Novice's Jack Werstroh (G) got no saves on six shots to suffer the loss.

This was the first game for Thompson Tigers.
