Seth Salamandyk is leader with a hat trick, The Pas Atom A Huskies relies on defense to win

The Pas Atom A Huskies handed a loss to Thompson Tigers 7 - 2 at RHJA on Saturday. The Pas Atom A Huskies scored four goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. As the second period unfolded, The Pas Atom A Huskies scored two goals to Thompson Tigers's one and kept the lead. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but The Pas Atom A Huskies kept the lead for the win.

Leading the way to a win for The Pas Atom A Huskies, Seth Salamandyk earned the hat trick with five goals. Putting their initial points on the board, Salamandyk put the puck in the net without assistance with 3:04 left in the first period. The Pas Atom A Huskies found more success on the ice when Salamandyk lit the lamp with 0:16 left in the first period with an assist from Riley Ballantyne. During the first period, with 11:32 left Salamandyk put the puck in the net without assistance. Piercing though the defense, Salamandyk netted an unassisted goal with 6:04 left in the second period. With 1:57 left to play in the third period Salamandyk got a fifth goal with assists from Daemon Titterton and Ashton Paul.

In the crease, The Pas Atom A Huskies's Griffin Wadelius (G) got no saves on two shots to earn the win. In goal, Thompson Tigers's Paige Garson-Symons had no saves on seven shots on goal for the loss.

This was the first game for Thompson Tigers but The Pas Atom A Huskies entered the game with a record of 1-0.
