There seems to be a lot of confusion and misconceptions around the rink and "cyber rink" these days.

Let me first off explain where the notion of this came to the board. Traditionally this time of year the attendance drops right off and the warming spring air seems to occupy more of people's thoughts.

We, as a board, decided to try something a little diffrent this year. Rather than coast out the remainder of the season, the concept of giving the kids a taste of what they can look forward to next season would be a good thing to try.

The kids can see where they match up skill wise with the older kids they have moved up to practice with. The older kids now get the opertunity to be that "big brother/sister" to the ones coming up and take on somewhat of a mentor role. This all can be accomplished through practice drills and informal scrimmaging.

We do not have a perfect "blueprint", but rather would hope that people would keep an open mind, help out wherever possible and let the two weeks pass before passing judgement. Like anything else for the first time there will be some valuable lessons to be taken either way.
