Our local teams did well, with Huskies AA going undefeated in round robin, Huskies A winning a commanding game against Islanders, the Blizzard B winning its pool.

Due to tournament rules regarding goals for/against, the AA were edged out of opportunity to play for gold by one goal against them in their strong victory over the Kings, amounting to .002 in the standings.

In the playoffs, the AA team won the Twin Motors Cup (3rd), the A team was finalist for the Fortune Electric Cup (B-side) in an exciting game which was decided by "come from behind" Flin Flon goal, and Blizzard won the Tri Family Health Cup.

Perhaps the most inspiring moment of the weekend, was the presentation of a donation to the Bornia Family.  Mitch Bornia is one of the employees at the RHJA, and his family recently lost their home in a fire.  The Atom program wanted to do something to help, so at the skills and drills, they ran a special 50/50, with all proceeds to his family.  In addition, the teams topped up the donation to $500, as well as collecting additional donations from the Yaremko, Blakeston & Lagimodiere families.

All in all, it was a great weekend of hockey, and TPMHA would like to thank The Grub Box for its unwavering support for almost 4 decades, all the other sponsors for our trophies and raffle table, as well as all the volunteers that ran the event.  Thanks also to the players, parents, spectators, and all those that travelled into our communities.

The Grub Box's 40th Annual Atom Tournament is scheduled for 2018.
