Time - Score Keeper

Pretty soon house league games will be staring and we will need time-score keepers for the games.

I will hang up calendar pages on the board at the arena and if you are interested in doing this task, please write your name in on the date you are available. Last year the house league games were on Wednesdays. I also understand these games would count as 1 hour as volunteer. So this is another easier way to build up your 15 volunteer hours. Please sign up and help out.

Super Star Fun

Last week I had an idea on how we could all make coming to the arena even more fun, how to engage everyone while watching the games. I thought of us as parents handing out *Super Star Awards* at the house league games.

How do I explain my idea ....

Okay I will do the 1st game.  So on the 11th or whenever we have our 1st house league scrimmage game, I will give out an little prize at the end of the game to one of our kids who has the "Goofiest Victory Dance".  If our child scores they can show off their goofiest dance moves to everyone watching. If they shoot and miss, they still need to be happy and show us their dance because they tried and that is all that really counts. This can be just a quick 1 minute shout out on the mic to child and let them know they won that weeks award.

I can hang up a sign up calendar under the U13 section at the arena and we can take turns coming up with an idea for the award, and what type of award it will be. We can write our name down on the day,  and what "type" of award it will be. You can print off the award, make it, buy something little ... whatever you come up with for that week, run with it.

I believe once we do this a few times the ideas will be endless and all of us are going to enjoy watching the games just a little more. Let's have fun!

Some of our Superstars have been ....

Sloan Murphy for doing his victory dance (Budinikas Family)

Talen and Trapper for Superstars (Young Family)

Anson and Connor for Gamestars (Young Family)

Ember McGinnis-Young for loudest cheer, and Kason Delaronde for best moves. (Conaty Family)

Random Acts of Kindness Bags

On Monday practices I will be drawing out 2 names out of a bucket or a bag. All U13 kids names will be in this bag. Who ever has their name pulled out, will get to pick out a gift bag I have made up.

All gift bags look the same, you can not see in them, and the kids won't lift them or touch them, just use their eyes to pick which one they would like as they will be numbered. In each bag is a little something for them, a positive or inspiration quote, and another note to suggest doing a random act of kindness. We all have awesome and caring kids, I believe our kids can do something little for someone else and not expect anything in return.

If you child does the act of kindness suggested, maybe you could take a picture of them doing the act, or let us know what they have done and how the other person may have reacted to them. Maybe there is a different idea they would like to do, that's awesome, let them do that act of kindness and let us know about it.

Our community is a great little place, together we can make it even better.

This will start on the 23rd of October.

Josh Young took cinnamon buns to the RCMP for his act of kindness. The Constables ate them up and thanked Josh for the delicious treat!

For Chase's random act of kindness .... Chase gave a iced coffee to his chiropractor Brandt Weldon, so he could enjoy a coffee break.
